AAPG Chapter Forms

What's that, you say? Well, each semester we are required to fill out forms letting the AAPG know what we have been up to this semester. In order to do this, we need each of our members to let us know what their membership number is. Don't know your number or if you are already a member? That's okay. You can call 1(800)364-2274. If you are not already a member and would like to become one, you can find the application on the AAPG link at the top of this page. It will direct you to new member and renewal applications.

Dues: It's that time again...but if you sign up for AAPG or renew your membership, you get a $5 discount!!

Once more it is time for you to pay your dues. Each semester costs $15.  If you have not signed up for AAPG or renewed your membership, please do so soon and receive a 5$ discount on your dues. That's right, your dues will only by $10 this semester!!!!!! You must show proof. Treasurer, Travis Barnett will be collecting your dues throughout the first weeks of meetings. Remember, you are required to pay dues if you attend any of the meetings and choose to enjoy the dinner we provide.

Don't forget to check out our calendar for other upcoming events!

NSF awards a grant to ASU's Geosciences program.

The National Science Foundation awarded Dr. Blount, Dr. Joe and Dr. Ward a $164,839 grant. With this grant, ASU created a program entitled "Pathways for Inspiring, Educating and Recruiting West Texans in the Geosciences." This money can be used help to educate and create awareness of Geosciences in future generations of students currently enrolled in Hispanic Serving Institutions within the San Angelo Independent School District. Currently, the program has two goals. First, to provide 500 students in grades 6-12 the opportunity to study Geosciences and become more aware of the career opportunities within Geosciences outside of the college degree. Second, they hope to educate and inspire at least 40 teachers in Geosciences content areas, and to sustain professional development support of those teachers throughout the academic year.
